Vossa Jazz 2020 should have taken place for the 47th time 3 – 5 April, but is cancelled due to the corona virus.

The festival remains one of the oldest, most acclaimed jazz festivals in Norway. Quite an achievement considering the modest size of Voss with it´s appr. 15000 inhabitants. Every Easter since 1973 has started with 3 days of jazz, folk and world music. This year Trondheim Jazz Orchestra and John Scofield will be performing the opening night, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten has the honour of being commissioned work composer and a string of musicians from Norway and the rest of the world will be lining up and give us all an experience worth remembering!

Please notice!
Luckily we’re able to present a free Norwegian antidote to corona quarantine and lockdown isolation depression!

Friday 3 April 20.00:

In collaboration with Verftet Online Music Festival we’re proud to present a new band, of which four of six musicians has previously been awarded “Vossa Jazz Award”, so we’re very excited to announce “Reformasjonen”:

Mari Kvien Brunvoll – vocals
Kjetil Møster – saxophone
Stein Urheim – guitar
Jørgen Træen – modular synthesizer
Chris Holm – bass
Øyvind Skarbø – drums

The members of “Reformasjonen” has not before shared a stage, but each of them have earlier collaborated together. Stein and Mari have worked together for a long time, and at Vossa Jazz 2016 they brought along Kjetil to produce a one of a kind show –  that later resulted in the album “Utopian Tales” and was released through Hubro. Jørgen produced the album “Utopian Tales”, and is a staple producer for Kjetil (Møster!) and for Øyvind and Chris’s band Skarbø Skulekorps.

We are certain this concert will guide the audience through their different influences; eclectic, but jazzy, free, solid, soaring and groovy.
